With the smooth progress of freshmen enrollment education, Chai Hua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the College of Communications Engineering (CCE), conducted education on school rules and regulations for 2022 freshmen of CCE in both Nanhu and Nanling campuses on 4, 5 and 6 September, aiming to create a harmonious campus and help 2022 freshmen better understand school rules and regulations and adapt to university life faster during the pandemic.

At the beginning, Chai briefly introduced the history, majors and graduates’ employment status as well as other important matters, such as major allocation and academic warning. Chai also emphasized the importance of studying hard with goals and directions in university.

Then, Chai interpreted the main contents of the “Disciplinary Provisions for Undergraduates of Jilin University”. With real cases happened on campus, Chai stressed the following points: 1. be careful of telecommunication fraud, small loans, pyramid selling and other traps, and think twice when it comes to money, personal information leakage and other matters; 2. standardize online behavior, do not spread untrue information at will or use inappropriate words to vent emotions online, and always consider the possible adverse effects on oneself, others and the collective when releasing information; 3. build a harmonious and safe dormitory environment, pay attention to the safety of electricity, especially the safety of charging equipment, and do not use illegal electrical appliances; 4. uphold the spirit of academic integrity and abide by the rules of the examinations. Finally, Chai emphasized that during the epidemic period, especially under closed campus management, it is necessary for students to actively respond to the national call and strictly comply with the local and school regulations on epidemic prevention and control. Through concerted school management and standardized network behavior, students and faculties of CCE may join hands together to overcome the epidemic.

Although affected by the epidemic, CCE will continue to carry out professional education, mental health guidance and safety and fire prevention education for freshmen in an orderly manner, in order to help them understand and adapt to college life faster and protect them better.
